I have a 3-hr class today, and my teamer is currently in the program I decided not to enrol in. Cool! We were almost classmates. (He is therefore Gillian’s classmate.) (Then again, I guess we still are.) And he practices with his little machine thingy in class, which is pretty nifty. (I forgot the model, but it’s black, flat and rectangular with foam keys; fits in one of those plastic file cases; more streamlined than the student machines I’ve seen.) If he can’t keep up, or if the shortcuts act up, he switches back to the normal keyboard. It’s fun to watch, especially when the keys interpret “honorable” as “horrible,” for instance. Practice of course is key to get speeds up, so I just sit back and let him get in as much as he can. I’m more and more curious about the theory now, though. Maybe should consider getting the book and machine and winging it. Someday.
