Old City Hall
A detective (slash cop, slash lawyer — the whole gang of them) story: first novel I’ve read set in Toronto, and that was pretty cornbally kewl, especially after last semester’s deluge of paralegal classes. So yup, this is my book of the month. It’s not just the best book I’ve read all month; it’s the ONLY book I’ve read all month. But it’s my genre of choice, and it’s a fast read, short chapters and all, and exciting! Thank God for subway rides and the few minutes of light before bedtime, I still manage to read something. To quote from the book, “If you work for yourself, your boss is an asshole.” Also says Mr. Rotenberg’s writing a 2nd book. Yesss.
