Mi Penultimo Adios
Had a nice surprise going-away treat by former office pals–accidentally bumped into a bunch of them in a bookstore and they whisked me off to Fort Santiago. (Field trip ba–not to gun me down or what.) After that, we walked around Intramuros and got dirty ice cream from the sorbetero, then we went to the Manila Bay “Baywalk” where we sat down and ate Lapid’s Chicharon. Then we had dinner at Aristocrat (chicken bbq, naturalmente) then went back to the Baywalk for coffee and, later, taho. Ayos ba? Kundi lang ako busog, naghanap pa ako ng balut. Was mighty pleased with the pedestrian crossing (Ped Xing) along Roxas Blvd–there’s a countdown for pedestrians (parang Bangkok tsaka US daw) so you can adjust your walking speed according to the time left to cross. (Hoy, 5 seconds na lang, TAKBO!!!)
